We recommend Clean Bee™ as a safer alternative to bleach for targeting mold, chalkbrood (a fungal spore), and other surface diseases that can harm your bees.
Naturally occurring, the active ingredient HOCl is a pure and stable compound that is safe for humans, animals, and insects.
Instructions:
During bee cocoon harvest, lightly apply Clean Bee only to areas impacted with Chalkbrood. Carefully remove the chalkbrood spore and spritz both top and bottom trays where the spore touched both wood surface. Work the liquid into the wood.
Mason Bee cocoons:
Clean the cocoons by vigorously washing them in cold water. Pat them dry. Then Spray Clean Bee on dry mason bee cocoons lightly and evenly on all sides. Clean bee is not designed to be used to wash and clean the cocoons completely, but to help with mold, and pest.
Spray Clean Bee to treat mold growth in your HumidiBee container and on your mason bee cocoons during winter storage. Evenly spray the HumidiBee pads and the mason bee cocoons on all sides.
The shelf life for Clean Bee is at least 3 years.
